Volunteering

A range of interesting volunteering opportunities are available at Frome Museum. Volunteers are of all ages and backgrounds are welcome and many find working in the Museum very rewarding. It is an excellent way to learn more about Frome and its history and to make new friends with similar interests.

The Museum is entirely run by volunteers and we are always looking for new people to join our team.

We have various opportunities including:

• Staffing our reception, greeting visitors and dealing with enquiries
• Working in our well-stocked library and archive – this also provides opportunities to assist with research
• Helping with the conservation of our thousands of artefacts
• Assisting with displays and interpretation

We  especially welcome anyone with a museum, library, education, research, or administration background as well as others with relevant experience or interests. Many of our volunteers are taking a career break, have recently moved to the area, or are retired.

We aim to be as flexible as possible to fit in with volunteers’ personal circumstances and availability.
