Here are some frequently asked questions (FAQs) that are often put to Frome Heritage Museum. They cover all sorts of practical questions about what to expect when you visit and, currently, the latest covid-19 policy.
Covid-19
We are following Government guidelines with daily cleaning measures; good ventilation; display of Government QR code poster and suggest visitors voluntarily wear face masks; use the available hand sanitisers and keep themselves at a sensible distance from other visitors.
Times & Dates
We are open from 10am to 2pm Tuesday to Saturday from mid-March to mid-November. We also open on Frome Independent Market Sundays.
Tickets
There are no tickets as such, just come along to any event/exhibition that you might be interested in seeing.
How Much Does it Cost?
It’s free but we very much depend on the generosity of visitors so please leave a donation.
How Long Does it Take to Look Around?
On average, visitors spend from 1 to 2 hours in the Museum.
Group Visits

Out of Hours Research
The Library/Archive is open to researchers by appointment throughout the year. Ring 01373 454611 or email: info@frome-heritage-museum.org to arrange an appointment.
Donations of Items
We are delighted to receive donations of items relevant to Frome and surrounding villages. We reserve the right to refuse any item and also to re-disperse certain items as required.

Getting Here & Finding Us
We are located in the centre of Frome next to the town’s main Cheese and Grain Car Park and we are clearly signposted.
We do not have our own car park.
Taking Photos
Photos can be taken for personal use but not for commercial use without permission.
Facilities
We do not have a cafe or any food/drink facilities but there is a cafe next to the Cheese and Grain car park and several others within the town. There is a toilet but no baby changing or disabled facilities.
Accessibility
Due to the grade II listed building it is not possible to cater for wheelchair access. Those with walking sticks will need to take care moving between galleries. There are two steps up to the entrance and two between our exhibition galleries. The Museum stewards are on hand if help is required.
Safety
The safety of our visitors and volunteers is paramount. Please respect all signage and follow directions given by staff members.
